* REFLECTIONS 02-04-13

ONE

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.

One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal

One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.

One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.

One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,
One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you!

If you think positively,
sound becomes music,
movement becomes dance,
smile becomes laughter,
mind becomes meditation,
and
life becomes a celebration.

"There is nothing
better than the
encouragement
of a good friend."

-Katherine Butler Hathaway

Everybody needs beauty
as well as bread,
places to play in and pray in,
where nature may heal
and
give strength to body and soul.

~John Muir

I am beginning to learn that
it is the sweet,
simple things of life
which are
the real ones
after all.

~ Laura Ingalls Wilder

"Sometimes
God speaks through strangers.
Imagine if we never
never took the time
to listen."

~ Bob Perks

The Wonder of Silence

In silence lies the ability to listen; to listen to ourselves,
 to others and to God.

Listening is a lost art. Without it we cannot communicate,
we cannot relate to each other and so we cannot live life meaningfully.
We need to learn to listen.
Sitting in silence allows us to listen to ourselves
and to understand.  This silence can heal.
The worries, the pain can be healed when we listen.

Spiritual medicine is ever-present in the soul.

Whenever we need it, to whatever extent we need it,

we can find it within.

"Senior version of Jesus Loves Me"

Here is a new version just for us
who have white hair
or no hair at all.
For us over middle age
(or even those almost there)
and all you others,
check out this newest version
of Jesus Loves Me.

Jesus loves me, this I know,

Though my hair is white as snow

Though my sight is growing dim,

Still He bids me trust in Him.

(CHORUS)

YES, JESUS LOVES ME..
YES, JESUS LOVES ME..

YES,

JESUS LOVES ME
FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO.

Though my steps are oh, so slow,

With my hand in His I'll go
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.

When the nights are dark and long,

In my heart He puts a song.

Telling me in words so clear,

"Have no fear, for I am near."

When my work on earth is done,

And life's victories have been won.

He will take me home above,

Then I'll understand His love

I love Jesus, does He know?

Have I ever told Him so?

Jesus loves to hear me say,

That I love Him every day.
