* REFLECTIONS 02-02-13

The mind is like a parachute -
it works best when it is open.
How quickly we make assumptions,
jump to conclusions
and close our mind.

How easily we form
and hold fast to our opinions
and then close our mind.

How fast do we make a judgement,
slap on a label
and then close our mind.

A closed mind
never knows the delight
of playing with possibilities,
being enlightened by others
point of view
or enjoying the diversity
of human life.

An open and understanding mind
never assumes,
doesn't jump to conclusions
and won't hold fast
to any opinion.

Perhaps it is no wonder
a closed mind
is not
a very relaxed mind.

"Grief is like the ocean;
it comes on waves
ebbing  and flowing.
Sometimes the water is calm,
and  sometimes it is overwhelming.
All we can do is  learn to swim."

(Vicki Harrison)

"I've learned that people will forget
what you said,
people will forget what you did,
BUT
people will never forget
 how you
made them feel."

-Maya Angelou

To accomplish great things,
we must not only act,
 but also dream;
not only plan,
but also believe.

-     Anatole France

"Compliments are the helium
that fills everyone’s balloon;
they elevate the person receiving them
so he can fly
over life’s troubles
and land safely
on the other side."

 -Bernie S. Siegel M.D.; Author

Remember,
if you fill a moment with resentment,
nothing of value will come of it.
If you hurry through the moment,
anxious about what is next,
you'll leave behind the opportunity
you could have had
to make a difference.

It has been proven that all need physical contact
to feel good,
and one of the most important forms

of physical contact is the hug.
When we touched and hugged,
we bring life to our senses

and reaffirm confidence
in our own feelings.

Sometimes

we do not find adequate words
to express what we feel,
the hug is the best way.
There are times

that we do not dare say what we feel,
either through shyness

or because feelings afflict us;
these cases one can rely

on the language of hugs.
Hugs...

it makes us feel good,
 relieves the pain,
depression and anxiety.
Trigger positive physiological changes

in who plays and who is played.
Increases desire to live the sick.

It is important to know that:

Hugs are needed for development,
stay healthy and to grow as a person.

What gives us a hug?
Protection,..

 Feeling protected is important for everyone,
but it's more for children and older
which often depend on

the love of those around them.
Security...

 all need to feel safe.
If we can not,

 we operate inefficiently
and our interpersonal relationships decline.
Trust...

 Trust takes us forward when
Fear is imposed on our desire

to participate with enthusiasm
in some challenges in life.
Strength...

 When we transfer our energy with a hug,
our own forces increase.
Health...

 Physical contact and share a hug
vital energy capable of remedy
or alleviate illnesses.
Self-recovery...

 Embrace can convey a message
of recognition of the value
and excellence of each individual.

Hug your friend;
Hug your loved ones;
Hug your children;
Hug your pet ...

Hugs to all!
